2023 Inaugural Excellence Awards Luncheon Honoree
Ms. Erin Pickens, WAPT Morning News Anchor is an award-winning journalist with almost two decades of experience in television news. For almost 13 years, she was the morning and noon news anchor for WJTV in Jackson, Mississippi. she has worked in television news in her hometown of Memphis, TN, in Greenville, MS, and in Jackson, TN. Erin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Memphis and a Master of Science in Communication from Mississippi College. She is a professor at Tougaloo College and is heavily engage in and throughout the community as a member of of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Junior League of Jackson, and the LeFleur’s Bluff Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Erin was in the 2009-2010 class of Leadership Greater Jackson and was the 2014 Summer Reading Ambassador for the Jackson Public Schools district.
