Ms. Monica Theresa Barnes is the Executive Producer and Talent Booker for The Steve Harvey Morning Show, the #1 syndicated urban radio show. The Steve Harvey Morning show broadcasts in 103 radio markets and it is streamed live on iHeart Radio. Monica is a native of Jackson, Mississippi and proudly took the nickname, “Mississippi Monica,” after co-workers started calling her that. She earned a B.S. degree in Psychology in 1992 from the University of Southern Mississippi and an M.S. Degree in Counseling in 1995 from Jackson State University. Prior to radio, Monica worked for 12 years as a licensed mental health therapist and a vocational rehabilitation specialist. In 2008, in a major shift in her career, she began working with The Steve Harvey Radio Network, where she learned radio production and has managed to build an extensive rolodex of who’s who in entertainment, to become a top talent booker. Monica is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and resides between Los Angeles, CA and Atlanta, GA.
